Who is Adam May?

Adam May, MS, is no stranger to life’s most brutal battles.

Diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma in 2005, Adam spent 344 of 411 days hospitalized, facing a devastating prognosis—a 25% chance to survive. But beating cancer was only the beginning. What followed was a relentless fight against survivor’s guilt, PTSD, anxiety, substance abuse, and obesity. Instead of surrendering, Adam set out on a lifelong journey to rebuild his life—body, mind, and spirit.

With over a decade as a licensed clinical provider, Adam has dedicated his career to helping others confront their darkest moments. His own struggles forged a deep understanding of resilience, perseverance, and the transformative power of asking for help.

Unable to have children due to chemotherapy, Adam views his writing, speaking, and work with others as his legacy—his way of empowering people to rise from adversity and reclaim their lives.

Inspired by thinkers like Dale Carnegie and Viktor Frankl, Adam authored his debut book, A Fox in a Bear Trap—a bold exploration of vulnerability, healing, and transformation. His personal milestones—including losing 150 pounds and achieving sobriety—stand as proof that resilience can turn impossible odds into extraordinary outcomes.

My history:

My journey began in the face of adversity. Diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma as a teenager and given just a 25% chance to live, I spent over a year in the hospital fighting for my life—and learning what true resilience looks like. That experience shaped everything that followed. I became a licensed clinical provider, spent over a decade helping others through some of their darkest moments, and eventually founded AM Consulting Services to bring that same depth of understanding to individuals, businesses, and organizations seeking real, lasting change. My work is grounded in lived experience, clinical expertise, and an unwavering belief in what’s possible when we choose to rebuild.

My mission

My mission is to help people and organizations move forward—with clarity, purpose, and resilience. Through honest conversation, strategic insight, and clinically grounded support, I guide others toward meaningful growth, whether they're navigating personal challenges, leading teams, or building something new. This work is about more than solutions—it's about empowering people to reclaim their direction and create lasting change
